🃏 Pokémon TCG Updates

End of the Scarlet & Violet Era

The Scarlet & Violet era of the Pokémon Trading Card Game is concluding this July with the release of the final set, Black Bolt and White Flare, on July 18. This set features all 156 Pokémon from the Unova region. Stock up while you can! Following this, the TCG will transition into a new era centered around Mega Evolutions, with sets like Mega Brave and Mega Symphonia launching in August, featuring cards such as Mega Lucario ex and Mega Gardevoir ex. We for one are excited for this change!

Meta Deck Spotlight

The current top-performing decks in the Pokémon TCG meta are:

  1. Dragapult ex – 25.38% usage

  2. Gardevoir ex – 15.02% usage

  3. Raging Bolt ex – 10.63% usage

  4. Gholdengo ex – 10.46% usage

  5. Joltik Box – 7.97% usage

New Releases & Events

  • Extradimensional Crisis Expansion: Pokémon TCG Pocket introduces Ultra Beasts like Nihilego and Guzzlord ex in its latest set, Extradimensional Crisis. This expansion adds over 100 new cards, enhancing gameplay and collection strategies.

  • Merchandise Launch: On June 6, the Scarlet & Violet merchandise line-up drops, featuring exclusive items like Black Bolt and White Flare deck sleeves and boxes.

  • Mid-Year Celebration: Participate in official Play! Pokémon League events this June to receive special promo cards, including Professor's Research.

🎮 Video Game News

Pokémon Legends: Z-A

Set to release on October 16, 2025, Pokémon Legends: Z-A will be available on both Nintendo Switch and the new Switch 2. Pre-orders begin June 5. The game features real-time battles, Mega Evolutions, and a reimagined Lumiose City. Don’t forget to book the week off work!

📺 Anime Highlights

Pokémon Horizons Season 2: The third part premieres on Netflix on June 27, 2025, continuing the adventures of Liko, Roy, and their companions.

Classic Series Return: As of June 1, 2025, Pokémon XY, Kalos Quest, and XYZ are back on Netflix, totaling 145 episodes for fans to enjoy.

📱 Mobile Game Updates

Pokémon GO

  • Giovanni's New Lineup: In the "Crown Clash: Taken Over" event, Giovanni now uses Persian, followed by Kangaskhan, Rhyperior, or Nidoking, and concludes with Shadow Dialga. Defeating him grants a chance to catch Shadow Dialga.

  • June Events:

    • Serene Retreat: Ends June 3, featuring Shiny Munna and the debut of Gigantamax Rillaboom.

    • Groudon & Mega Abomasnow Raids: Begin June 5.

    • GO Fest Jersey City: Runs June 6–8, alongside the Instrumental Wonders event (June 7–11) featuring Gigantamax Cinderace.

  • Spotlight Hours: Every Tuesday from 6 PM to 7 PM local time, with featured Pokémon and bonuses.

Pokémon UNITE

  • Fairy Festival Event: Launching on June 5, this event celebrates Fairy-type Pokémon, introducing the new Supporter Alcremie. Players can earn a Unite License and Holowear for Alcremie by completing missions with Fairy-type Pokémon.

  • Alcremie's Debut: Alcremie officially joins the roster on June 12, 2025, bringing its unique support abilities to the battlefield.

  • New Held Items: The Amulet Coin and Choice Scarf were added on May 22, offering new strategic options for players.

Pokémon TCG Pocket

  • Ultra Beast Events:

    • Ultra Beast Drop Event: June 3–13, offering promo cards like Ultra Necrozma ex.

    • Wonder Pick Event: June 11–21, featuring Poipole and Stufful promo cards.

    • Ultra Beast Mass Outbreak: June 22–28, increasing chances to encounter Ultra Beast cards.
